If there’s one car which Americans are forever going to be grateful for is the Ford GT40. Its history runs deep than one could ever imagine, but its legacy is well known, and mostly for giving the first victory for an American manufacturer at a major European race, and this was in the 24 Hours of Lemans in 1966, ending Ferrari’s streak of six consecutive wins that had lasted from 1960-1965 and it went ahead to win three more in a row. Despite having been built and designed in England the car not only resembles but also has American DNA within it.
In that regard, and since not every one of us managed to see it in action, YouTube user Marchettino caught up with one at a race track and managed to capture its loud exhaust sound. And what did you expect from an old school Ford V8 engine? Loud is the answer! The video also shows some track action allowing you to hear bits of acceleration and much more.
