RM Auctions Monterey 2014 Preview

RM Auctions greatest auction of the year (arguably) is its Monterey 2014 auction. It coincides with Monterey car week and it usually attracts some very high value cars. Take last year for example. Over $86 million worth of cars were sold including a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Spider for $25 million, a 1953 Ferrari 375 MM Spider which sold for $9.08 million and a 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster which sold for $7.5 million.

This years auction promises to be just as big and part of the auction list has already been revealed. Among the headline lots are a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM by Scaglietti, a 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Alloy by Scaglietti, a 1965 Ford GT40 Roadster Prototype and a unique 1961 Ferrari 250 GT N.A.R.T. Spider rebodied by Fantuzzi in 1966.

Aside from these headline lots though, there are a number of other exemplary cars up for grabs. These include a matching numbers 1979 Lamborghini Countach LP400S Series I, one of just 51 Tucker 48’s ever build, a 1965 Ford GT40 Roadster Prototype and a 1936 Auburn Eight Supercharged Speedster.
