Driver Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima set out in a 910hp Suzuki SX4 – powered by a twin-turbo V6 with 4WD – in an attempt to break his own Pikes Peak Hill Climb overall record of 10:01:41 set in 2007. The video shows footage of the now 60-year-old Japanese rally driver on his way to the summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado.
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC), also known as The Race to the Clouds, is an annual hillclimb event with a distance of 19.99 km. The course has a staggering 156 turns and climbs over 1.400 meters from the start to the top of Pikes Peak. The road consists of both paved and gravel sections and a good set of tires is the key to success.
Sadly Nobuhiro Tajima didn’t beat his own record this time, but he might be back next year!
