Supercars Seized by the British Police

The Metropolitan Police Service, the territorial police force responsible for policing London, today revealed twelve pictures of supercars seized since 2011 as a result of Operation Cubo. The cars range from a Lumma Design Porsche Cayenne to two Lamborghini Aventador’s.

Operation Cubo led to 44,000 cars and over 1,000 arrests in total. Police checkpoints were set up across the British capital and uninsured vehicles were spotted using automated numberplate recognition cameras. Uninsured cars were then seized from drivers.

The operation has been a widespread success with arrests for crimes including rape, possession of guns, money laundering and drug possession. Of course, you’ll probably also remember that several UAE residents were also caught up in the crackdown.
