The New York International Auto Show 2016 kicks off tomorrow at the Javits Center, as usual, we would like you to have a glimpse of what to expect from our coverage during this year’s event. Quite a number of new cars are expected to make their first public appearance at the show, including the new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 and E 43 4Matic models. Koenigsegg will lead the supercar lineup with the new Regera which will be showcased alongside the only One:1 in the US.

The preview below includes a list of officially confirmed cars, we shall add more so keep checking back to see what’s new.

1. Maserati Levante

The new Maserati Levante SUV made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month and is the first ever SUV by the Italian car maker. New York will mark its first public appearance in North America. It’s powered by the same 3.0 liter V6 found on the Ghibli and Quattroporte models producing 345 hp on the entry model and 424 hp on the S model. The UK market will only receive the diesel version which features a 275 hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine.

2. Mercedes-AMG GLC 43

The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 is the latest model to wear a “43” identifier and the first in the GL- model lineup. The engine is the same 3.0 liter V6 biturbo found on other x43 models, producing 367 hp and a 0-100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds. It will make its global debut at the New York International Auto Show 2016.

3. Mercedes-AMG E 43

Joining the GLC 43 will be the new Mercedes-AMG E 43 4Matic which will also makes its first public appearance at the New York International Auto Show 2016. The 3.0 liter V6 now produces 395 hp.

4. Mercedes-Benz CLA and CLA 45 AMG

The Mercedes-Benz CLA facelift will make its debut at the New York International Auto Show 2016, both the sedan and shooting brake models will be on display. The AMG variants will also be showcased – the 2.0-liter four-cylinder now produces 381 hp and 475 nm of torque.

5. 2017 Nissan GT-R Facelift

Nissan recently teased a new GT-R model – possibly a facelift – which will debut in New York this week. Nothing much has been revealed but we expect a few changes on the exterior and a slight power increase over the current 545 hp. The limited Nismo model produces 600 hp.

6. Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

The highly anticipated Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will make its debut at the New York International Auto Show 2016 this week. Initial reports suggested a hellcat-powered version of the Trailhawk but that will not be the case, at least not for the New York debut. We will provide you with full details of the new Trailhawk once it goes official.

7. Koenigsegg Regera and One:1

The New York Auto Show 2016 will mark the first public appearance of a Koenigsegg Regera model in North America. The new production spec Regera was revealed earlier this month in Geneva, 40 units have already been sold out and only 80 units will be made. The Regera weighs only 1590 kg, its hybrid powertrain produces 1,800 hp.

8. BMW M760Li xDrive V12

After making its initial debut in Geneva earlier this month, the new BMW M760Li is coming to New York for its North American debut. As the most powerful 7-Series, the M760Li produces 600bhp from the twin-turbo V12 engine, and is capable of doing 0-100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.

9. Alpina B7 Biturbo

The Alpina B7 Biturbo comes with a 4.4-litre V8 Bi-Turbo engine with 608 hp and 800 Nm of torque. It made its global debut in Geneva too and is headed to New York for its North American debut. The new B7 has been priced at 121,008 euros.

10. Porsche 911 R

The Porsche 911 R will be presented at the New York International Auto Show 2016 this week after making its global debut in Geneva earlier in March. It uses the same 4.0 liter flat-six found on the GT3 RS, producing 500 hp. The 911 R is limited to 919 units only. From a visual perspective, it looks similar to the GT3 minus the rear wing.

11. Porsche 718 Boxster

Porsche introduced the “718” moniker on the 2017 Boxster and Cayman models with the Boxster making debut in Geneva earlier this month. The new models use a flat-four turbocharged engine dropping the naturally aspirated flat-six. Even so, the new models are more powerful and efficient than the outgoing models. New York will mark the North American debut for the Porsche 718 Boxster.

12. Jaguar F-Type SVR

As the first Jaguar to wear the SVR moniker, the new F-Type SVR is not only the most powerful Jaguar in production but also the fastest, with a 200 mph top speed. It was revealed in Geneva and will now make its American debut in New York this week. JLR will also showcase the Range Rover Evoque Convertible and the Range Rover SVAutobiography.

13. Porsche Macan (four-cylinder turbo)

The new Porsche Macan with a four-cylinder turbo engine is the fourth model in the Macan portfolio. It joins the Macan S, Macan Turbo and Macan GTS and will make its global debut in New York this week. The new Macan produces 252 hp from the 2.0 liter engine, thanks to the 14 PSI of boost.

14. Spyker C8 Preliator

Limited to just 50 units, the new Spyker C8 Preliator will be revealed to the North American market at the New York International Auto Show 2016 this week. It’s powered by an Audi-sourced V8 engine producing 525 hp, with a 201 mph top speed.
