Swedish hypercar manufacturer Koenigsegg just presented once again its new hybrid Regera in production spec at the Geneva Motor Show 2017. Last year we were looking at a ‘Candy Apple Red’ Regera, this year we are looking at two examples, a red and a green carbon fiber Regera!

The Koenigsegg Regera will have the company’s full attention and dedication now the Agera line is nearing the end of production. When we consider the numbers, Koenigsegg created a worthy successor for the Agera, this time with a hybrid setup. Despite the significant chunk of weight that the hybrid system taps on the car, the curb weight is still impressively low at just 1,628 kg.

Seeing the hand-built hypercar in real life immediately tells you that this is not your ordinary plug-in play device. Whoever thought the Koenigsegg One:1 was impressive, capture this: the Regera’s powertrain is capable of delivering more than 1 MW of power. The powertrain entails the very potent 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 good for 1100 horsepower and 1250 Nm of torque, and three electric motors delivering a combined 700 hp and 900 Nm of torque. This brings the combined output to over 1500 hp (1.11 MW) and over 2,000 Nm of torque.

On road the Koenigsegg Regera devours zero to a 100 in just 2.8 seconds, 150 km/h to 250 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, and 0-400 km/h in under 20 seconds. The Regera is likely to top out somewhere between 400 km/h and 500 km/h, although an official top speed has not been disclosed so far. Looking at the massive two-seater in the flesh, we cannot conclude otherwise than it being the ultimate beast!
