2016 Ford GT Could Deliver 630 hp and 539 lb-ft

Despite being released nine months ago, Ford has yet to reveal just how powerful the 2016 Ford GT supercar is. Thanks to Forza Motorsport 6 however, official specifications about the car have just emerged.

In the game, the 2016 Ford GT pumps out a total of 630 hp and 539 lb-ft of torque from its twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 engine. The American marque has previously confirmed that the new GT will deliver in excess of 600 hp and given the accuracy of Forza 6, there’s a very good chance that these figures are the real deal.

To put the new car’s power into perspective, the 2005-06 Ford GT’s 5.4-litre supercharged all-aluminium V8 pumped out 550 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque so the new car improves quite substantially on those figures all while promising to be much more fuel efficient.

Just last month, Forza 6 revealed that the new Ford GT features a completely active rear wing and airbrake similar to the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari.
