Earlier in the year, it emerged that Robert de Niro had been cast to play Enzo Ferrari in a new biopic about the influential businessman. Well there is a second Enzo Ferrari film in the works and this one is tipped to star Christian Bale, perhaps best known for previously playing Batman.
This second Enzo Ferrari film is being directed by Michael Mann and has apparently been in the works for an extraordinary 15 years. It will focus specifically on the year 1957 which is the year Enzo’s son, Alredo Ferrari, died as well as the last year the Mille Miglia race was held in earnest.
In the Enzo Ferrari biopic starring Robert de Niro, it will trace the Italian’s life from the founding of Ferrari through to his death in 1988.
Mann’s film will begin filming in mid-next year.
