The debut of BMW’s much hyped i8 hybrid sportscar is almost upon us. And to tease us just that little bit more, BMW has released a final teaser ahead of its launch on September 10th.

The i8 is the second model in BMW’s new “i” range of vehicles — the first being the more city focused i3. The i8, on the other hand, is nothing short of a full fledged sportscar.
The run from 0-60 mph will take just 4.5 seconds on your way to an eventual top speed of 155 mph (electronically limited). Power comes from a 3-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a small electric motor that provides power to the front wheels. Horsepower figures for the gasoline engine sit around the 230 hp mark, with the electric motor making 130 hp.
The i8 will release with a combined horsepower figure of just a hair over 350 hp — 362 hp to be exact.
