Not long after the exciting new Alfa Romeo Giulia sedan launched, a white example has been put on display at the firm’s museum in Arese, Italy. While the following photos aren’t of the highest quality, they do provide us with our first look at the Giulia’s true styling beyond the initial press shots.
Simple, natural lines blend with short overhangs, a long bonnet and muscular arches. The Giulia features an unusually long wheelbase to maximise comfort and stability. The legendary trefoil nose is present and features a new Alfa Romeo logo, designed by Robilant Associati. Overall, there are traits of the Jaguar XE and Mazda 6 in the Giulia but it looks unashamedly Italian and in Quadrifoglio Verde specification, is quite impressive.
Importantly, the Giulia has a perfect 50:50 weight distribution and rear-wheel drive comes standard with all-wheel drive an option. The car also features torque vectoring and a front splitter utilizing active aerodynamics.
Under the bonnet, a range of engines will be offered. The first example will be the top-of-the-range Quadrifoglio Verde version in the above photos. The flagship V6 turbo petrol powerplant has been tuned by Ferrari engineers, delivering an impressive 510 hp. The Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde manages 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. It is an aluminium unit, as are the rest of the petrol and diesel engines. Power to weight is just 3 kg per hp.
