ABT Sportsline have just revealed their take on the Audi S3 Cabriolet. The extensive tuning program entails a significant power boost for the open-top S3 that matches the factory output of its more potent sibling, the RS3.
We were already quite impressed with the Audi S3 in standard condition when we first got to test drive it last year. Speeds of 250 km/h on the Autobahn were reached quite comfortably, so imagine the effect of the significant power upgrade ABT has in store for the S3 convertible and its 2.0-liter TFSI engine.
Thanks to the ABT Power S module the S3 Cabriolet now produces 400 horsepower (294 kW) and 500 Nm of torque up from the standard 310 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The boost in power rockets the ABT S3 Cabriolet to 100 km/h from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds. Part of the power pack that boosts the compact convertible’s output is a custom sport catalyst.
For those who can do with a little less power ABT offers a less extreme tuning package. It comes at a cheaper price but lacks the sport catalyst. Although even with this package power is still increased significantly. Even with 370 hp and 480 Nm the custom S3 Cabriolet leaves little to desire.
To help manage the increased output the S3 Cabriolet can be fitted with ABT sport anti-roll bars for both the front and rear axles. Further cosmetic changes on the exterior have been kept at a minimum. More racing style like air intakes at the front improve functionality and give the S3 a more aggressive stance at the front.
As a finishing touch customers are welcome to spec a set of custom wheels, with options ranging from 18-inch to 20-inch alloys. To get a solid idea of how certain configurations look on the ABT S3 Cabriolet, ABT now has an interactive configurator on its website for everyone to try.
