Niche German sports car automaker Wiesmann has just announced that it has been purchased by two British suitors.
While recently speaking with Autovisie, the company’s co-founder Friedhelm Wiesmann revealed that a British couple had purchased the automaker. Importantly, they have already signed the contracts and are intending on restarting Wiesmann production.
As the deal is so recent, further details about it remain unclear including just what Wiesmann models could be heading back to the production line. Prior to the company going insolvent in 2014, its most recent model was the limited edition GT MF4-CS restricted to just 25 units to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary.
The last we heard of Wiesmann was over a year ago when it revealed that it was on the hunt for new investors and evidently, that search proved fruitful.
