Porsche could be readying as many as four new models in the coming years. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard such rumors, but this is the first time we’ve heard that 4 new models could be on the horizon. And while it may pain some Porsche faithful, do remember that the Cayenne is the car that largely responsible for the massive resurgence seen today — so a few new models aren’t entirely out of the question.

According to reports, Porsche is looking to add a new “baby Boxster” to its line up. The development of such a car hinges heavily on the success of the Macan SUV. If the Macan is successful, Porsche could make a case for experimenting with a smaller Boxster.

In order to fight with the BMW 5-series and Mercedes E-Class, Porsche is also looking to create another sedan — this time called the Pajun. Executives are worried, however, that adding another sedan could hurt the company’s image as a sports car manufacturer.

Third in the rumormill is a fighter to the Ferrari 458 and McLaren MP4-12C. Codenamed the 960, the 458-fighter would be a mid-engined sports car priced around the $250,000 mark. Finally, Porsche is also considering releasing a coupe version of the Panamera when the next generation of the sedan launches in the next few years.

While all these rumors seem supremely interesting keep in mind that most of these won’t happen. If they do, don’t expect anything before 2017.
