We recently brought you a video put together to highlights the numerous Mercedes-Benz models utilised in the upcoming action-flick ‘A Good Way To Die Hard” and it’s recently been announced that the upcoming Die Hard film will feature one of the most expensive and news-worthy car chases in movie history.
According to director John Moore, there were 132 cars which could never be used again after the scene, while another 518 cars (nope, you’re not reading that wrong) will require a lot of work to be returned to their former glory. All of this adds up to an “$11 million sequence”.
Moore stated that “With Die Hard it’s about how audacious the action is. So you have to drive over a Lamborghini. An actual one. And yes it hurts me. I’m a car fanatic.”
The director then went onto reveal the most shocking detail of all claiming “someone showed me the numbers on the car chase and soup to nuts, you put it all together it was like an $11 million sequence.”
If that wasn’t enough, then keep in mind that that figure doesn’t include the numerous Mercedes-Benzes wrecked in the car chase as they are provided to the film crew free of charge!
Let’s hope for Moore’s sake, the movie racks in enough money so he can forgive himself for running over a Lamborghini!
