Video: Exclusive Ride in Porsche 918 Spyder Prototype at Dubai Autodrome

Porsche has yet to reveal the production version of the 918 Spyder publically, and yet some lucky individuals have still been fortunate enough to be offered passenger rides in the ground-breaking supercar with one lucky Middle Easterner being given just that opportunity at a launch event at the Dubai Autodrome.

Because development of the Porsche 918 Spyder is still ongoing and the car has yet to be completely refined to a production acceptable level, track tests similar to this one are taking place all around the world to ensure the brand new supercar can perform on any number of tracks despite the different climates found at such circuits.

Additionally, the very point that the Porsche 918 Spyder is being pinned as a true track-day toy, more than capable of also being driven on the road, means that this tests are crucially important and Porsche obviously believes that having someone in the passenger seat is vital to finalise the car’s weight distribution.

The following video shot by Melek, or namo8c on YouTube helps to capture the car’s exhaust note perfectly, giving us our best indication of what the Porsche 918 Spyder will sound like from the cabin, with the roof down thanks to the exhausts exiting straight from the top of the engine.
