At SEMA 2015, Ringbrothers unveiled its very impressive ‘SPLITR, based around the 1965 Ford Mustang. While not complete with the all-carbon fibre body of the Espionage ’65 Mustang also created by the Ringbrothers, the SPLITR really managed to turn heads at SEMA. Recently, IamTed7 had the chance to shoot the one-off creation at the Red Rock Canyon in the United States.

When construction began of the car, the brothers heavily modified its bodywork by trimming the bottom of the front fenders while also extending the rocker panels forward. Additionally, the wheel arches have been flared by 1.5 inches at all four corners. A secondary floor pan has also been installed which provides the SPLITR Mustang with a completely flat undertray.

To make the car stand out further, it has been painted in a shade dubbed ‘Ford Race Red’ and topped off with a satin clear finish. A set of forged HRE wheels have also been installed (18” at the front and 19” at the rear) and wrapped in sticky Nitto Invo tyres measuring 265/35 and 305/35.

Beneath the skin, the car has been fitted with a 427 cubic inch V8 engine from Ford Racing. That engine has been installed with a bespoke aluminium and Lexan airbox as well as a potent new throttle body and MSD Atomic fuel injection. Coupled to the engine is a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels.
