The 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed is now live, those watching at home can now catch all the action via the Goodwood Festival of Speed YouTube channel starting today till the final day on Sunday.

For this year, BMW will take the center stage as they celebrate 100 years of existence with a monument erected in front of the Goodwood House.

The theme for this year’s show is ‘Full Throttle – The Endless Pursuit of Power’, a celebration of the most powerful competition cars and motorcycles in the history of motorsport. There will be various tributes including one that honors the 100th Anniversary of the Indy 500 race. McLaren is showcasing a special McLaren P1 GTR ‘James Hunt’ edition, to commemorate 40 years since Hunt’s Formula 1 World Championship with McLaren.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016 will take place from June 23-24, the Moving Motor Show will kick off on Thursday (June 23) followed by the main event from Friday till Sunday.

Tickets are available through the Goodwood website, and while most of them are already sold out, there are several options left for you to try out.

Standard tickets for Saturday and Sunday are sold out, a limited number of tickets are available for Friday. That said, the only way to attend on Saturday and Sunday is through the Grandstand Package or Hospitality Package.

2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed Debuts

There are quite a number of new and special cars making debut at this year’s show. They include:

McLaren XP1 LM which will drive up the hill with 1999 Indy 500 winner Kenny Bräck behind the wheel. The McLaren P1 LM is limited to 5+1 units, 3 will go to the Sultan of Brunei while the remaining two will go to an undisclosed US buyer and Ralph Lauren.

The Bugatti Chiron will also be driving on the hill climb, this will mark the official public debut for the Chiron in the UK.

Mercedes-AMG GT R – the hardcore version of the AMG GT, or the road going version of the 2016 Nurburgring 24 Hours winner Mercedes-AMG GT3. It will make its world debut at the Festival. The official release is scheduled for tomorrow.

The McLaren 570S Sprint – a “no holds barred” version of the McLaren 570S GT4. It’s a track only version of the 570S, and is not bound by rules such as those binding its GT4 counterpart.

Vuhl 05 RR – a hardcore version of the 05 sportscar. It will be part of the “Race Cars for the Road” section at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
