New spy shots of the street-legal Mercedes-AMG “GT3” have emerged online.

The shots were captured as the car undergoes continuing development work at the hands of Mercedes engineers. The AMG “GT3” is a road-going, street-legal version of Mercedes’ potent GT3 race car.

These new spy shots give us an even better look at what the road-going race car will look like once its released. The most noticeable updates to the car include new front air intakes that have been placed in the front spoiler as well as an entirely restyled front grille. In these spy shots, the front grille is heavily covered in camoflouge indicating that it will be undergoing drastic design changes. Many are speculating that it will feature many of the same design elements as those found on the AMG GT race version.

Around the back we noticed a brand new redesigned diffuser that is complemented nicely by a single central exit exhaust outlet. New air intakes have also been fitted in between the tail lights. Naturally, the car features a large rear spoiler for additional downforce.

Expect the “GT3” to receive a noticeable bump in horsepower in addition to a drop in overall curb weight thanks to liberal use of carbon fiber.

No word on the official name of the car as of yet. Mercedes will not be using the GT3 nickname that the car currently has due to the monikers association with Porsche.
