First Photo of 2016 Mercedes-Benz SL Revealed Ahead of LA Debut

Mercedes-Benz has just released a teaser image of the 2016 SL ahead of the car’s world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2015 later this month.

As expected, the new SL bares many similarities to existing Mercedes-Benz models. As a result, it features a familiar chrome front grille as well as curved air intakes and a prominent central element on the lower section of the bumper. Additionally, we can see headlights very similar to those from the AMG GT and complete with embedded daytime running lights and Multibeam LED technology. This initial display car has also been painted in a shade of royal blue.

At the rear, we expect to see thinner taillights, a redesigned bumper and new exhaust tips.  Inside, a number of visual modifications are expected with the COMAND multimedia system the most likely element to be tweaked.

There’s a possibility that the facelifted SL will become the third Mercedes-Benz AMG Sport model. Alongside all the standard variants and this potential AMG Sport model, the range-topping SL63 AMG will also be facelifted.
