Just after the McLaren 650S Can-Am was revealed to the world, the limited edition supercar was recently involved in a private unveiling in Portugal giving prospective customers a chance to see the car up close for the very first time. While the included images aren’t of the highest quality, we do know that they were snapped on October 12th.

The 650S Can-Am has been introduced to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the inaugural Can-Am racing season. The 650S Can-Am will be limited to just 50 units worldwide with all based around the 650S Spider and priced from 255,850 euros.

Some of the most significant features of the McLaren 650S Can-Am are its new range of lightweight carbon fibre components like the carbon retractable hard top. Elsewhere, carbon fibre has been used for the bonnet, airbrake, front splitter, elements of the rear bumper, the door blades and sill cover. Additionally, a set of custom forged wheels have been developed by McLaren Special Operations with a gloss black finish and a five-spoke design.

Other bespoke elements of the 650S Can-Am include the new carbon fibre air covers on the front wheel arches as well as the custom quad stainless steel exhaust system. Inside, leather and alcantara adorns the sports seats as do a number of carbon fibre accents. The car can be painted in Mars Red, Papaya Spark (orange) and Onyx Black.
