The 35th Annual Concours d’Elegance of America took place in St. John’s in Plymouth on July 26-28, 2013- this past weekend. The premise had served as the Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit until 1988 before closing and reopening again albeit for social and corporate events. The Concours started with a press preview event on July 16, then came the Hall of Fame Induction & Awards Celebration, Hosted by RM Auctions which took place in July 25. July 26 saw quite a number of events go down; there was the RM Auctions preview, the Motoring Tour- which showcased the Lingenfelter Collection, the The VIP Tour that showcased the Adderley Collection, Plymouth Friday Night Concert in the Park and RM Auction – Cars and Cocktails.
On July 27 there were a few seminars, the RM Vintage Motor Car Auction and the City of Northville Concours Preview Party. The concours took place the next day- July 28.
The main event was divided into modern and traditional classes. The traditional classes had divisions such as the Gaslight 1906-1914, Jazz Age 1915-1927, American Popular 1928-1942, American Classics 1928-1942, Pre-War European, American Post-War 1946-1959 and 1960-1970. There was also the Muscle Car-Dealer Supercars, Post-War Sports 1946-1960/1961-1975 and Post-War European supercars.
The 2013 classes were divided into London to Brighton, Auburn/Cord: The One Offs and Detroit Iron which featured models like Cadillac, Chrysler, Lincoln and Packard. The Indianapolis Iron had models like Duesenberg, Marmon and Stutz. There was also a motorcycle class, Can-AM, vintage NASCAR, electric cars of the past, present and future and they even celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 and the 1963 Corvette not to mention the Jet Age convertibles.
Falcon Motorsports who are the source of these photos were largely represented by their Falcon F7 supercar. The Falcon F7 is powered by a 427 cubic inch LS-7 engine with 620hp mated to a Heavy duty, high performance 6 speed transaxle with dual disc clutch system. The Falcon F7 was accompanied by other supercars like the Lamborghini Aventador, Audi R8 and the SRT Viper.
Yeah, but they forgot to mention the Pagoda/600 Class!
