Sad news to relay today, Autoblog.nl are reporting that a journalist, 35-year-old Michael Cornette, was killed while travelling as a passenger in an Ariel Atom 3. The driver, 30-year-old Matthieu Desmet, has been placed in an induced coma after suffering severe kidney damage. The accident happened during a test drive for the Belgian newspaper Krant van West-Vlaanderen.
The accident happened in Harelbeke, Belgium and the cause was said to be excessive speed. The driver lost control of the lightweight track car, hitting a grain silo and instantly killing the passenger. The road test was carried out in the run up to the Brussels Motor Show later this month.
According to Nieuwsblad, the force of the accident was so great that the silo’s moved 10 inches.
very very dangerous car !
only to those who dont know its limits. Basically any car is dangerous – you should think before saying something stupid like that.
Car ıs very dangerous for sure WTF are u talking about I am not sure you ever been in this car…
Rest in peace.
i think he would get more chance if he drove a big sedan or a SUV, and last years, a french actor died burn cause a crash with the same car
It’s NOT the car, it’s the driver who doesn’t play safe with the slippery roads and cold tires. It was stupid to do that, the car should not have been driven. Saying it is dangerous is like saying all airplanes are dangerous because they can fall!
I agree with ArielAtomOwner, this car needs very special conditions before driven anywhere, specially in an open winter road.
Must be very hard for the driver, if he ever wakes up,knowing that due to him his buddy was killed.
Completly agree with you. My Atom is in the garage and will not put a tyre on the road till march or April. Even if it’s hot for the season, the roads are way too slipy …
That driver got the license plate for a month ago or so and this is how it end up.
ma ko ga jebe
