Video: Traffic Jam on the Nurburgring

traffic jam on the nurburgring

The last place you would expect a traffic jam is probably at a race track, especially during a closed event like Scuderia Hanseat. However during the last fall edition of driving course Scuderia Hanseat there were so many cars that a small traffic jam started in the among spectators popular corner of Brünnchen. That this is not without risk is shown by the video below that our member Gijs shot. Two Porsches nearly collide when they suddenly have to brake for the cars in the traffic jam around the corner. In October 2011 a big accident at the Nurburgring Nordschleife involved 8 cars.

Meanwhile drivers and fans that Nurburgring GmbH, the company that manages the track, uses the raised lap fees to make the track safer.
