Supercar producers presenting an S model of their cars isn’t new at all. But Jaguar that already had the XKR created now an S version for what allready is a special version of a sportscoupé. The Jaguar XKR-S is the name. This one will stay exclusive because there will only be 200 built of it and they all stay in Europe. But every medal has a backside…in this case no extra bhp’s for the XKR-S.
That means that the XKR-S will runn on the 420 bhp produced by the supercharged 4,2 liter V8 engine. Small difference is that the limiter for 156 mph (250 kmh) has disappeared and the topspeed is now 175 mph (280 kmh). The guys at Jaguar say that by this higher topspeed the XKR-S is the fastest production Jaguar since the XJ 220.
The exterior got refreshed by some aggresive looking parts and the colour is exclusive and only for this model: Ultimate Black. Last but least is the price: € 165 500 ($ 251 700 – `£ 126 800).
