Mecum will auction off a 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan at its upcoming Monterey auction, presenting a rare opportunity to own the 1 of 24 track-only supercar.

The Vulcan pulls inspiration from GT3 racecars and features an 800 horsepower 7.0-litre V12 engine linked up to a 6-speed Xtrac sequential race transmission. The supercar is built around a carbon fiber tub constructed by Canadian firm Multimatic, which was also responsible for the Aston Martin One77’s carbon fiber monocoque.

Because the Vulcan is a racing-inspired track car, it also integrates an FIA-compliant steel roll cage and a special steel subframe engineered to handle the 3,000+ lbs of downforce the Vulcan is capable of generating. Four-way adjustable pushrod double wishbone suspension, front and rear adjustable sway bars, Brembo 4-wheel Carbon Ceramic racing disc brakes and lightweight forged alloy center locking wheels are also featured.

The motorsports influence continues on the inside with full carbon fiber Recaro racing seats, Schroth 6-point racing harnesses, an adjustable AP Racing Pedal box, a bespoke carbon fiber steering wheel and a Cosworth Omega digital dash. An in-car camera and data recorder also helps drivers improve by giving them the ability to review their lap times and other critical info.

This particular Vulcan, presented in a unique purple shade known as “Midnight Purple Pearl”, is serial number 11 of 24. Mecum provides no estimate for its value, however Aston Martin’s list price for the Vulcan when new was $2.3 million. It is also 1 of only 2 units that are physically located in the US, both were imported by Aston Martin Cleveland.
