German tuning company Alpha-N Performance have recently unveiled their tuning program for the latest BMW M-power model, the 2016 BMW M2.
Starting with the straight-six engine that is good for 370 hp and 465 Nm of torque Alpha-N Performance offers a three-stage remap. Stage one brings performance of the Bavarian coupe up to 400 hp and 580 Nm of torque. A second stage sees performance rise to 415 hp and 600 Nm of torque respectively. The final stage brings the M2’s total output to a firm 430 hp and 620 Nm of torque. Stage three of the ‘EVOX’ tuning program also includes removal of the speed limiter and a race-grade downpipe without catalytic converter.
Customers can also opt for a free flow silencer with valve control for an even further enhanced exhaust note. Aesthetically Alpha-N has several components to match the car’s upgraded performance. The German tuner lets customers choose between three different rear spoilers. Optional highlight is a fully adjustable in-house designed carbon fiber rear wing, which goes hand-in-hand with a matching front splitter. Alternative spoilers come in the shape of an M4 GTS inspired wing manufactured by Edison Composites, or a racing-style M235i Motorsport wing.
To go with the optional M4 GTS wing Alpha-N Performance plans to introduce a variety of carbon-fiber styling components in due course. At the foundation of the car’s improved handling efforts lies the set of 19-inch OZ Racing Ultraleggera HLT alloy wheels. Further upgrades include a fully adjustable road and track coilover suspension by Öhlins that lowers the ride height and improves the chassis dynamics. An additional adjustable camber plate is still in development.
