Facelifted Porsche Cayenne Turbo Spotted

Just a few days after the upcoming Porsche Cayenne plug-in hybrid was spotted as the facelifted 2015 model under minimal camouflage, a prototype for the range-topping 2015 Porsche Cayenne Turbo has been snapped testing in the cold.

Under the hood, the current Porsche Cayenne Turbo features a 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivering 493 hp. However, for the facelifted Cayenne Turbo, the upgraded 4.8-liter twin-turbo V8 from the most recent Panamera Turbo is likely to be used. This engine has been uprated to now deliver an impressive 520 hp. Further down the line, a Turbo S variant of the facelifted Cayenne will be offered with it expected to deliver over 550 hp.

While on the surface this prototype may look like it has no camouflage at all, some of the most pivotal visual changes are partially hidden. This is most apparent at the rear where the taillights are being hidden by black tap (see link below for pictures). Hiding beneath this camo however is expected to be much slimmer taillights similar to those currently used by the Macan revealed last year.

If the fact that the facelifted Porsche Cayenne is indeed launched as a 2015, that means it will debut sometime this year. When exactly that will be is a big mystery at the moment, but don’t rule out an L.A. Auto Show debut in November.
