If you want to explore the true thrill a supercar can provide, the first place you may think of going is to a stunning racetrack. However, the following video shows that a free thrill for any supercar owners out there is speeding through a tunnel at full throttle to fully exploit the incredible soundtrack all supercars produce!
The following video is of a McLaren 12C Spider speeding through a tunnel where it chews through 5 miles worth of fuel in less than a mile! While the fuel consumption may suck, the soundtrack produced by the British supercar more than makes up for it!
GTspirit Road Test of McLaren 12C Spider
As a reminder, the McLaren 12C Spider features a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 625 hp and 600 Nm of torque. Consequently, it goes from zero to 100km/h time in just 3.1 seconds, exactly the same as the coupe. To 200km/h it takes nine seconds, which is 0.2 seconds slower than the coupe. Top speed is 3km/h short to the fixed roof 12C at 329km/h.
The 12C Spider also features the same carbon fiber MonoCell chassis as the Coupe. The complete cell weighs just 75kg and was designed with the convertible model in mind so McLaren didn’t have to strengthen it in any way. The folding roof mechanism simply adds 40kg of weight to the overall package. Compared to the competition, the 12C Spider’s mechanism is extremely light.
