Following our recent preview of the four modified Scion FR-Ss heading to SEMA 2013, additional details about the most outlandish have been released courtesy of the tuner behind the creation. Dubbed the Scion FR-S Concept One by Bulletproof Automotive, this unique creation is a pure racing car from the outside and while the interior does feature some weight saving measures, it still looks like a pleasant place to sit.
The first challenge in creating the FR-S Concept One was to convince Scion to allow Bulletproof Automotive to undertake the transformation. Once that hurdle was passed, the Scion FR-S Concept One by Bulletproof Automotive was built with a key goal in mind; to become a worthy baby brother to the mighty Lexus LFA.
Not only has the Scion FR-S Concept One by Bulletproof Automotive managed to become a worthy sibling to the LFA, it now features even more impressive numbers. Thanks to a heavily modified turbocharged engine, the Concept One produces an impressive 500 hp and with the car now weighing less than 3000lbs, it has a better power-to-weight ratio than a stock Lexus LFA.
To create such a light vehicle, Bulletproof Automotive used a host of lightweight materials both inside and outside. Namely, carbon fiber was utilised throughout the interior while all the bodywork is now constructed from the lightweight material.
