The upcoming 2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider was caught while testing in southern Europe. The prototype has a camouflaged roof and rear window area that reportedly hide a retractable hardtop.

A seven-speed twin-clutch Seamless Shift Gearbox (SSG) is to be the only transmission offered with shifting controlled via paddles mounted behind the steering wheel.
The roofless sports car is the main competitor to the Ferrari 458 Italia and will be released somewhere next year.
