The Porsche 911 GT3 type 991.2 has gone on display at the Geneva Motor Show 2017. Porsche’s latest hardcore 911 gets all the performance improvements you would expect, more power, rear wheel steering, a manual gearbox. We simply had to spend some time with it.

The Porsche 911 GT3 type 911.2 gets a new four-litre flat six cylinder engine. The power output is boosted by 25 hp to a total figure of 500 hp. The chassis is redesigned, it now uses rear-axle steering and a lighter construction. Power is routed through a seven-speed double-clutch transmission (PDK) which is fitted as standard.

After the success of the Porsche 911 R and the Porsche Cayman GT4, Porsche have finally decided to offer the Porsche 911 GT3 with a six-speed manual gearbox. Whilst slowing the 0 to 100 km/h time down to 3.9 seconds top speed increases to 320 km/h. Enthusiasts will likely flock to choose this option.

The 911 GT3 is available to order now. It will be launched in Germany from mid-May. Prices start at 152,416 euro, including German VAT.

  1. I wonder if they will make a .2 RS or is they will just wait until the new model drops in 2020. I have a feeling next year we get a GT2 and a .2 GT3 RS. The 997 MK2 Came out 2 years b4 end of cycle. I herd its going to be a 4.2L!!! That would be INSANE!!
