German tuner Gemballa has been creating exclusive sports cars based on the Porsche model line for over 35 years. The Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition is perhaps one of their most notable creations over the past few decades, which is why it deserves to be in the spotlights once again. This time the Geneva Motor Show 2017 is the venue of choice and we popped by to bring you a full gallery of this impressive sports car.

As a testament to the fact that the elegant styling and brute force of the Porsche Carrera GT still impresses today, Gemballa once again took their Carrera GT based Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition out of the garage. The Carbon Edition – the name says it all – features a near complete carbon fiber body with all the necessary lightweight aerodynamic add-ons. The Mirage GT in its ideal lightweight configuration went through multiple wind tunnel tests and is perfectly streamlined for high speed adventures.

The highly limited show car based on the legendary Porsche Carrera GT packs an upgraded version of the magical naturally-aspirated V10. Porsche’s free-revving V10 now delivers 670 hp and 630 Nm of torque which is good for a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.7 seconds. The Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition is capable of reaching a top speed of 335 km/h. To put things into perspective, it has been eight years since we first caught wind of this conversion, just imagine how impressive those numbers were back in the day!

The conversion package cost an approximate €300.000 back when it was launched, but we honestly could not tell you what it would cost today. We are however sure that the price for the limited Carrera GT has risen over the years, so expect that the total price of this creation exceeds the budget of at least 99% of us car enthusiasts.
