Mercedes-Benz Recalls 126,000 GLK and C-Class Models

Just over 126,000 Mercedes-Benz vehicles are being recalled throughout the United States due to a potential issue with the airbag.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has discovered that an issue in the manufacturing of the cars could result in a malfunction of the airbag control system. This could lead to the airbag deploying unexpectedly or not activating at all during a crash.

In total, 126,260 models are being recalled. They consist of the 2008-2009 C-Class, more specifically the C300, C300 4Matic, C350 and C63 AMG. Additionally, the 2010 GLK350 and GLK350 4Matic are affected by the airbag problem.

Mercedes-Benz asserts that there are no reports of injuries from the issue with all repairs being carried out free of charge.
