At the ongoing SEMA 2015 show, the absolutely insane 2016 Shelby F-150 has been introduced. Obviously based around the latest-generation Ford F-150 pickup, the Shelby F-150 is unlike many other cars at SEMA as it isn’t a concept and instead a production car soon to be available across select Ford dealerships in the United States.

In its most powerful state of tune, the 2016 Shelby F-150 has been developed to pump out a Lamborghini Aventador-beating 700 hp. That power figure comes thanks to a 5.0-litre V8 engine fitted with a supercharger, enlarged cold air intake, billet aluminium high flow throttle body, updated calbiration and higher flowing fuel injectors. Additionally, an all-aluminium heat exchanger has been installed alongside a Borla duel exhaust system.

For those not looking for any power gains over the stock Ford F-150, the Shelby variant can retain Ford’s standard twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 with 395 hp.

Elsewhere, the Shelby F-150 can be distinguished thanks to a bespoke suspension setup from Shelby and utilising components from DBS Suspension as well as Fox shock absorbers. New 18-inch wheels have also been fitted and wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tyres.

Beyond all the performance-oriented changes, the Shelby is easily distinguishable from the standard car. The front-fascia has been extensive modified and bares resemblances to the Ford Mustang albeit on a much larger scale. It includes three prominent horizontal grilles as well as a new skid plate, fog lights and a beefed up bonnet. Mustang-inspired Shelby racing stripes can also be ordered.
