Video: Jaguar F-Type SVR Spied Testing at the Nurburgring

A new prototype of the upcoming hardcore Jaguar F-Type SVR has been spied in the midst of testing at the Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany.

Evidently, this particular test mule is a coupe derivative but it is believed that the F-Type SVR will also be offered as a convertible. Based on the grid that this tester manages to carry through the track’s tricky corners, it appears to be installed with the vehicle’s relatively new all-wheel drive system as well as the eight-speed automatic transmission found throughout the rest of the F-Type range. Giving the variety of F-Type models and configurations on offer, we wouldn’t be surprised if the SVR is also available with rear-wheel drive and/or a six-speed manual transmission.

From a mechanical standpoint, it is suggested that the Jaguar F-Type SVR will feature an uprated variant of the British firm’s range-topping 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine. In F-Type Coupe R specification, that powerplant pumps out 543 hp. For the F-Type SVR however, horsepower is pinned to sit around the 600 hp mark. As a result, the Jaguar F-Type SVR will become the automaker’s most powerful model on sale.
