It’s quite amazing to think just how fast the supercar industry progresses. At the time of the Ferrari 458 Italia’s launch in mid-2009, it redefined the junior supercar market thanks largely to its 4.5-litre V8 engine. Fast forward to 2015 and it has been replaced with the twin-turbo Ferrari 488 GTB available in coupe and spider guises.
While no one would ever call the 458 Spider slow, after watching the following video of it racing a slightly newer McLaren 650S Spider, you may wonder what makes the 458 so special. Of course, for what the 458 lacks in speed against the 650S, it certainly makes up with its V8 howl.
