While the 2016 BMW 7-Series may have just been revealed, G-Power has just unveiled its latest tuning upgrade for the outgoing generation of 7-Series. For the tuning firm’s latest 7-Series based project, it focused on the luxurious 760i.
Thanks to the installation of the G-Power Bi-Tronik 5 V1 performance module, performance from the twin-turbocharged V12 engine has been lifted significantly to 610 hp at 6000 rpm and 870 Nm of torque at 2600 rpm. Those figures represent 66 hp more than the standard BMW 760i as well as an additional 120 Nm of potent twisting power. Thanks to these improvements, the G-Power BMW 760i hits 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
To ensure that the new performance module doesn’t have any unwanted effects on the V12 engine and its reliability, a built-in protection system is featured. The system works by not allowing the engine to produce any additional power or torque until optimum engine coolant temperatures have been reached.
Beyond the performance upgrades, this 7-Series features a set of 21-inch Hurricane RR forged wheels.
“The powerful, silky smooth V12 bi-turbo engine in the current BMW
760i F01 allows it to vie for the crown in the luxury limousine class.
Now, the 610 hp/513 kW and 870 Nm unleashed by the G-Power Bi-
Tronik 5 V1 performance module hands it the keys to the kingdom.
While the 0-100 km/h sprint is now covered in just 4.3 seconds, this
performance gain against the stopwatch is just the tip of the iceberg. It
certainly does not tell the whole story, least of all the fact that the
experienced engineers at Bavarian-based G-Power have seven high-
speed world records under their belt.
Key Facts: G-POWER 760i F01
• 610 hp/513 kW at 6,000rpm (+66 hp/49 kW)
• 870 Nm at 2,600 rpm (+120 Nm)
• 0-100 km/h: 4.3 sec
• G-Power Bi-Tronik 5 V1 power module from 2,600 euro net
• 21-inch HURRICANE RR forged alloy wheels 7,647 euro net
Out of the box, the BMW 760i is already a very complete package with
good all-round performance. But the extra 66 hp unleashed by G-
Power adds an extra sporting dimension to the cars character.
Installed between the factory ECU and its data bus input, the Bi-Tronik
5 V1 power module is only activated when the driver demands full
throttle, remaining dormant during part load operation.
To ensure that V12’s reliability and longevity are not compromised, the
module has a built-in protection system that does not allow the extra
power to be accessed until the prescribed engine coolant temperature
has been reached.
At the other end of the scale, the ability to access the extra power is
taken offline if engine temperature approaches the factory limits. In all
situations, the standard engine protection protocols are the default
mode, and diagnostic functions are also unaffected. Installation of the
module is plug and play, and is just as easily reversed.
In line with G-Power’s thorough development routine, the tuning of this
760i upgrade system involved many kilometres of real world testing
and calibration on both public roads and the racetrack.

To complement this power increase for the 760i, G-Power also offers
owners their renowned 21-inch diameter HURRICANE RR forged alloy
wheel, which improves handling by reducing unsprung weight.
Developed in CAD using FEM-analysis, the G-Power alloy wheel is
formed from light and strong aircraft-grade aluminium alloy, and is
available in three finishes: Jet Black, Gun Metal Grey, and Silver
Stardust. All three colours are combined with a DIAMOND CUT finish.
G-Power uses Michelin tyres in 255/35ZR21 front and 295/30ZR21
