BMW X7-Rivalling Jaguar J-Pace SUV Previewed

Jaguar J-Pace SUV

According to newly emerged suggestions, Jaguar is planning an all-new luxury SUV dubbed the J-Pace. The car will be designed to rival the impending Audi Q8 and BMW X7 as well as the brand new Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class and act as the offroad equivalent of the next-generation Jaguar XJ.

Automobile Magazine reports that the Jaguar J-Pace will be based around the facelifted Range Rover line-up and consequently utilise the same all-aluminium architecture. As a result, the J-Pace is pinned to be similar in size to the current Range Rover Sport.

Elsewhere, the Jaguar J-Pace is expected to be offered in both standard and long-wheelbase variations and will adopt Jaguar Land Rover’s Ingenium range of engines reportedly including a V8. A V6 engine could be offered but the current word on the street is that the firm’s V6 will soon be replaced with a turbocharged inline-six.

As with all Jaguar models, a plethora of different J-Pace variants would be offered include performance-oriented RS and SVR derivatives.
