When pushed for more details about a potent Mercedes-Maybach SUV, the company’s head confirmed that they’re keeping a close eye on developments in the luxury SUV segment particularly with the upcoming launches of the Bentley SUV and Maserati Levante SUV.

According to reports from back in July, the Mercedes-Maybach name could become the luxury sub-brand for Mercedes just like AMG is for high-performance models. As a result, Maybach variants of the recently revealed GLE Coupe could also reach the market alongside other Mercedes-Benz models.
