This year marked the 100th anniversary of Maserati and understandably, the Italian marque has made sure that 2014 was a memorable year. As a result, numerous new Maserati cars were revealed with a selection of special events also held around the world.

Maserati kicked-off 2014 with its first Super Bowl spot to help promote the new Maserati Ghibli luxury sedan. Then at the Geneva Motor Show 2014 in March, the Maserati Alfieri Concept was introduced to preview a brand new sports car from the firm. Featuring bold styling and promising Porsche 911 rivalling levels of performance, the Alfieri will hit the market in 2016.

Elsewhere during the year, Maserati was celebrated in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 50th Anniversary issue with a special 7-page pictorial feature. Then at the New York Auto Show, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale and GranCabrio MC Centennial Edition were revealed.

Other important events for Maserati during 2014 include a tour of over 12,000 km in 35 days from Beijing to Modena for the Centennial Gathering. Other highlights included the introduction of the completed Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Edition with Mauro Calamia also taking victory during the 2014 Maserati Trofeo series.
