The latest-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class is already shaping up be the firm’s best-selling ever and this is largely thanks to its advanced electronics and the range of variants it is offered in. Alongside the sedan, the sleek S-Class Coupe is offered and will soon be joined by a stretched model known as the Maybach, a 6.4-metre long S-Class Pullman and a Cabriolet.
Not too long ago, Mercedes-Benz revealed pricing details for the S-Class Coupe in the United States and now it has released a selection of comprehensive galleries for the car.
Interestingly, just two variants of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class coupe will be made available in the U.S. These are the S550 4Matic and the S63 AMG 4Matic. The former is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.7-litre V8 engine delivering 455 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. As a result of this powertrain, the Mercedes-Benz S550 4Matic Coupe hits 100 km/h in a brisk 4.6 seconds. It is priced from $119,000.
As for the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4Matic Coupe, it is powered by a 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivering 577 hp at 5500 rpm and 664 lb-ft of torque at 2240 rpm. The massive engine is then mated to a seven-speed Speedshift automatic transmission helping the 1995 kg car reach 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. It will set U.S. buyers back a minimum of $160,900.
