The special Lotus Esprit Submarine from James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, is currently up for sale on eBay at a cool $1 million. Despite the high price tag, the car isn’t actually functional in any way and is mounted on a display platform.
The car, based on the Lotus Esprit S1, was recently restored to its original pristine conditions thanks to the crew Rick’s Restorations for American reality TV show, American Restoration. In total, six Lotus Esprit submarines were created for the James Bond action flick with only one actually capable of being used as a submarine. Just three remain and this particular example was featured throughout the film as its wheels can be retracted.
As you may recall, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk purchased one of the other remaining Lotus Esprit submarine props last year.
