Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG

The Detroit Motor Show 2014 is seeing a number of high profile releases this year. The Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG is one of those! It completes a trio of entry level AMG models which includes the A 45 AMG and the CLA 45 AMG (both of which we love!). We took a closer look at the finished production Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG on the Detroit stands!

The Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG uses a (by now) familiar AMG 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. It gets 360 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque transferred to a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system via a seven-speed AMG Speedshift DCT transmission. It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

In terms of styling, the GLA 45 AMG gets traditional AMG hallmarks. Examples include the bonnet power bulge, front splitter, quad exhausts and larger wheels. Inside, performance seats are evident along with plenty of carbon fibre.
