When the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was introduced to the world in 2004, it was heralded as one of the greatest supercars for years. Combining performance and tech to compete with the mid-engined Porsche Carrera GT while still being more than capable of long journeys across countries, it is the ideal all around package.

Powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine producing 626 hp and 780 Nm of torque, the SLR McLaren sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h in around 3.5 seconds and onto a top speed in excess of 330 km/h. While such figures have since been eclipsed by numerous other supercars and hypercars in recent years, the SLR is still more than adequate for everyday driving and the occasional track day. As a result, when tuning specialists Famous Parts got their hands on it, they decided to leave the engine unchanged and set about some other minor changes.

This particular SLR is the Roadster variant and has been fitted with a set of ADV.1 wheels and more specifically, the 5.2 MV2 SL wheels measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. In order to improve the handling of the SLR Roadster, Famous Parts fitted it with a brand new suspension setup from KW automotive which can be adjusted. When 2014 rolls around, Famous Parts hopes to fit a custom titanium exhaust system to this SLR!
