Even before we started praising the LaFerrari and its closely associated McLaren P1, the Jaguar C-X75 Prototype had shown attempts of emerging as the first hybrid supercar. Sadly due to the global economic crisis which is now part of us all, the project was gunned down. For lucky manufacturers like McLaren and Ferrari, thanks to their financial projections and readiness, their projects went through!

Jaguar however never lost hope in the car which is considered shelved for now. And all is not lost in fact recent news has shown Jaguar showing an interest in the car including the revealing of this photoset that you see. More rumors show that the Jaguar F-Type will likely stock 700 hp by borrowing some engine technology from the Jaguar C-X75 hybrid supercar.

If it makes you feel better, how long did you have to wait for the Lexus LFA? About 10 years since its first concept was shown in 2000 till production began in 2010. The current figures of the Jaguar C-X75 which you already know of include the 1.6-liter four-cylinder fed by two turbochargers and capable of developing 500 bhp. That is then complemented by two electric motors with a total output of 390 bhp.

The wonderful figures allow it to sprint from naught to 100 mph in under 6 seconds before hitting an autobahn maximum of 220 mph.
