A serious accident happened yesterday on the A81 between Singen (Hohentwiel) and Engen. The 29 years old driver of a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera died later in hospital later on.

Police and firefighters were called to an accident early on Tuesday morning. It is believed that the driver lost control of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, causing a violent impact with the central reservation. It is believed that the Lamborghini was racing a silver Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG at the time of the accident.

The engine and rear axle of the Lamborghini Gallardo were completely separated from the cockpit. Witnesses reported the engine on fire 300 meters away from the scene of the accident. The section of road where the accident happened is a de-restricted section of autobahn.
