With production of the Lamborghini Gallardo recently drawing to a close, Jay Leno decided to take a look back at two of the most extreme Gallardo variants produced during its decade long production run to settle once and for all which one is best.
In the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, the American talk-show host takes a look at the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera and the rear-wheel drive Gallardo LP550-2 to compare two of the most popular variants of the Gallardo produced to date.
The Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera as we well know produces 570hp from its 5.2 liter V10 engine and can launch to 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and hit a top speed of at least 201mph. Conversely, the LP550-2 was inspired by the extremely successful Gallardo LP550-2 Balboni Edition and thanks to to the absence of a heavy four-wheel drive system, it weighs almost the same as the lightweight Superleggera.
