62 Ferrari F40's at Silverstone Classic 2012

The largest Ferrari F40 gathering ever took place at the Silverstone Classic 2012 today. Sixty two Ferrari F40’s took to the historic English racing circuit for a parade lap commemorating 25 years of the Ferrari F40. An astonishing statistic we think is that nearly all of them wore an English number plate, the odd one out wore a Swiss number plate!

Thanks to Munch997 we have video footage to show you of the cars parked up and out on track. Unveiled in 1987, many still regard the Ferrari F40 as the ultimate drivers car. It featured a 2.9 liter IHI twin-turbo charged V8 producing 478hp under 16psi of boost. The power was routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gear box and at the time, it was the fastest production car available with a top speed of 201mph!
