Ferrari CEO, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, was speechless when he saw the 2013 Dodge SRT Viper live for the first time. At least that is what the host of Detroit radio WJR-AM said after an interview with the CEO of the Italian brand. He said:
I had the chairman of Ferrari down here for the board meeting last week and he had a chance to look at the car, and he was speechless. I mean, for Ferrari to admit that the car is a unique vehicle is a hell of a compliment to the work that’s gone on here. So I’m delighted. I mean, so far, knock on wood, we’re doing well.
To refresh your mind we can tell you that the all new SRT Viper comes with a 8.4 liter V10 engine producing 640hp together with 814Nm of torque. It has the most torque of any naturally aspirated engine in the world. The 2013 SRT Viper gets a re-engineered version of the Tremec six-speed manual found in the previous generation viper. Modifications include a shorter throw shifter, closer gear ratios and a final drive ratio that has been shortened to 3.55 from 3.07.

He was speechless thinking ‘holly crap this is ugly’.
I’m trying to withhold judgement until I can see it in person myself. So far, I do not like the pictures I’ve seen.
No … he was speechless thinking ” Holy crap this is the AMG SLS re-bodied with that truck derived V10 in its snout . Now WTH are we a gonna do for a the follow up now that we’a gotta da no more a favors from a da Daimler Benz ? ”
Nice of Montezemolo to compliment the SLS ( platform ) though . We appreciate that ;-)
Yeah, I’m completely underwhelmed as well. I expected *alot* more.
What a load of US rubbish – they take a 8 ltr engine and only manage to get that amount of torque out of it.
Looks like a tractor and should be in a tractor
