Last week, one of America’s biggest performance car events took place at Lonestar Motorsports Park in Texas; the TX2K12. We had a photographer on hand to bring you an overview of this fantastic, four day event. Last Saturday and Sunday saw the final two events of the weekend, qualifying, testing and tuning and the final, drag strip eliminations.

This is the first of a three-part series giving you an insight into the machinery on display. For those who aren’t aware of the TX2K, it started in 2000 as a small, Supra-only event. Since then it has grown and grown to encompass a complete range of high-performance machinery. You’ll still see the Supra’s, but your more likely to see a Heffner-tuned Lamborghini Gallardo, Hennessey Viper or AMS Alpha 12 lining up next to it too!

The picture above give you a small insight into the drag racing events and the on-track shake-down at Lonestar Motorsports Park. You’ll probably remember AMS brought their Alpha Omega Nissan GT-R to the event where it ran a time of 8.6263 seconds with an exit speed of 173.8mph (279.7km/h). Several other cars set blistering paces with a Supra running 7.91 seconds with an exit speed of 187.81mph, the fastest time of the weekend.

Enjoy the gallery and keep checking up for more images from the paddock and the bikes and girls! Special thanks to Michael for the fantastic photos!
